If you want to make a real, Chicago-style hot dog, you need some of these little jewels to pickle and serve up on your dog. Sport peppers are medium-hot, naturally bite-sized, and should be pickled while in the immature green state in a seasoned brine to ensure the right amount of spicy crunch. They contain almost no fat and have only five calories per pepper. They are not hot, but have a little bite. If left on the vine until fully ripe, they turn red and mushy. A tasty, mild pepper.
