Melrose
A medium-sized sweet Italian pepper. Legend says they were brought to Amercia by an Italian family that settled in Melrose Park, Illinois, a a western suburb of Chicago. They grew the sweet, thin skinned peppers and sold them in the local produce stands. Great fried in olive oil. Plants grow to about 3 feet and are very productive.
